Beginner quick answer

Monster Alchemy is built around a create–gather–fuse–fight loop. You create creatures from ingredients instead of catching them, assign them to gather or craft, combine them into new species, and use party synergy plus elemental strengths and weaknesses in turn-based combat.

First steps: the core loop

  1. Explore an area to find ingredients, resources, encounters, and secrets.
  2. Synthesize a monster from ingredients at the creation system.
  3. Assign useful work: monsters can mine ore, chop wood, or craft potions, and their gathering abilities become more efficient as they level.
  4. Fuse monsters in the Chimeric Chamber when you meet the combination requirements.
  5. Build a tactical team around elemental strengths, weaknesses, and party synergy.
  6. Expand your base by discovering and customizing alchemist tower rooms.

Resource gathering guide

+Created monsters can contribute beyond combat: official material specifically names mining ore, chopping wood, and crafting potions. Gathering passives are distinct from combat passives, and gathering abilities become more efficient as monsters level. Start by assigning each creature to the confirmed task its displayed abilities support; this guide does not invent drop tables or material locations the developer has not published.

+This means a monster can matter outside battle. Compare each creature's gathering and combat role before deciding whether to keep it on a resource task, bring it into a fight, or consider it for fusion.

Exploration and sneaking

Team Metacarpo's map-overhaul post says paths were made more purposeful and added or emphasized secrets, encounters, environmental storytelling, and sub-areas. The accompanying sneaking system gives movement a direct combat consequence:

  • Creep behind a monster to attempt an ambush and gain a first-turn advantage plus a combat buff.
  • Sprinting near a monster can cause it to charge.
  • Search sub-areas rather than treating the main path as the whole map.
  • Watch for special recipe pickup sequences and the discovery animation for an alchemist tower.

The official material names sunny beaches and haunted graveyards as environment examples.

Combat decisions

Before a battle, compare type strengths and weaknesses, then use party synergy. Separately, official development notes say permanent passives can affect combat or gathering, and mutations can alter appearance and stats without changing the passive.
